This is a tiny roombox of sorts. My house had an old comm system from the 1950s. Each bedroom had its own message box, with a speaker and volume control, connected to the kitchen. Many years have passed since the system got any use, and at one point it was disconnected entirely, but the boxes were still there. We decided somewhat randomly to remove the box from one room, and it left a hole. Wouldn't it be neat, I said, if we could make it a little roombox?

My father cut the framework out of spare corner boards and the sides and top and bottom from paneling we'd had for years. It's all fitted together just so, with no glue or nails needed. I supplied the background and objects, and there it is. It's much nicer to look at than the comm system. The whole thing is about eye level, and maaaybe two inches deep.
